Well well it is me again =) I thought that i would be very free and would be able to post blogs every single day. However, it ends up that i always have something to do and i ended up being able to post a blog only today. Let me give state a brief summary of what i did for the past 2 days.
Saturday:
On my way to the university village shoppping centre, i actually chanced upon this limosine. I was like "Whao i thought i only see those in those gangster movies where the "da ge da" gets to sit in it." Hee...
Then, I went to the Bank of America to open an account. Took me quite awhile to get it done but it wasnt all to hard. Then i went to this place named "Radioshack" to get e new local phone line. If i wanted to continue to use my phone, which is unde GSM network, i had to sign a Cingular line. However, the policy here is that you would have to give a USD$500 deposit which would be returned to you only at the end of the year.
The other alternative would be to get a CDMA phone which is actually a wireless network. For this one, you only need to pay USD$158 as deposit and you can get a free phone. (The free phone was black in colour and not veri nice looking). Otherwise, you can top up USD$99 to get another nice looking phone, and USD$50 would be rebated to you coz there was some promotion going on. So, u only need to pay 49 bucks for the nicer phone. Hee so i decided to get the nicer one coz it's PINK in colour... Metallic pink... And the phone is much flatter. But, the technology here is so slow that their phones are still VGA camera. OMG...
I also got myself a webcam, a headset and a travel adaptor (i needed it desperately to charge my laptop) at Radioshack. Then i also went to a store to buy shampoo, instant noodles, detergent, water, tidbits... blablabla... Some necessities which i needed to use. It was like superbly heavy and i hav to carry the multiple bags with 2 hands. And the most stupid thing is that i couldnt find the exit then i came in from so i ended up walking 1 big round around the village. And believe me my hands nearly dropped out.
Then when i finally reached my hotel at bout 1plus in the noon, i realise that the person didnt include the travel adaptor inside my bag. I nearly *pengz*. So... Wad to do... Walk back AGAIN juz to get the travel adaptor. Another 15 mins walk... Oh ya i also bought movie ticket to RUSH HOUR 3 coz someone in spore promised to watch it with me on National Day but failed to uphold his promise so i had to watch it all by myself. Luckily i brought PiPi along with me to the theatre.
After getting the travel adaptor i went back to the hotel and took a nap coz my show was at 620pm. Then at 530pm i headed out and had a burger at Wendy's before i went to watch the show. Theatres in LA is free seating de. I was like staring at the tickets trying to find the seat number but all i could see was the Theatre Room no....
After movie i went to the supermarket to get myself a magazine, some bananas and some greens so i can make salad and not become a hamburger when i return to Singapore. Thats about it for my saturday.
Sunday:
As for sunday, i did not do much actually. I was online chatting via MSN for like almost 6 hours. Woke up at 6 am and chat till like 12 nn till my beloved brother told me to let my poor laptop take a break before it becomes over-heated and die on me. So the obedient me did what my computer Guru told me to do so and i went to wash my clothes after that. Whao it wasnt easy man... Whao it wasnt easy man. Firstly i had to handwash my clothes and i wasnt realli farmiliar with it. I soaked all the clothes together in water and poured in some detergent powder (i didnt know wad was the correct amt so i juz anyhow pour =P)
The funny thing is, i dunno how come there wasnt much foam. To me, there muz be lots of foam then the clothes will be clean. (Marie: Is this true??) So after washing, i even knew to soak the clothes in fabric softerner. (Marie: Do i soak all clothes with fabric softener? Even home clothes and undergarments?) Oh gosh i am so inexperienced....
Then i went down to the front desk to ask HOW COME ALL MY TV CHANNELS ARE ADVERTISEMENTS AND NOTHING ELSE?? So the kind-hearted front desk personnel told me to go the cable box and turn the cables to see if it works. So i went to my room and realise that... hee indeed the cable wasnt tightly plugged in. Sometimes i think im realli dumb man... So after some adjustments... TA DA~! Tv programmes....
I then went for a jog to farmiliarize myself with the area. After my job i went back and took a nap. When i woke up i watch tv and surf the net. Then i went to the lobby to get myself a drink... And... I MADE MY FIRST FREN. Hee it was the front desk personnel. I asked him how to get to some places then we started chatting. He was realli nice and told me all the things i need to know bout the area. He is currently doing his masters in Electrical Engineering in another unversity. He works part time on weekend in this inn and on some weekdays he works in the morn in the aircraft company Boeing. Then he attends classes on weekdays noon.
He was realli nice and offered to show me around the area. Well i was skeptical initially but i decided that since he was workin there it shdnt be too much of an issue. So he drove me around in his White colour Ford convertible. Took me to see downtown LA and some popular streets. Then he also helped me to find where my apartment will be coz i couldnt find it while jogging. He also taught me how to get to my school from my apartment. Hee so it was a pretty pleasant evening.
So everybody out there, i know you are worrid bout me but dun worry. No matter wad i will be cautious and do what is the best for me. But i cant possibly shun everyone juz becoz im in a foreign land. I will access the situation and decide what to do so... dun worry k? Im realli happy to have made a fren who took me around and let me know the area. If not i would still be a lonely and sad soul who's blur bout everything. That's bout it and nothing much so dun hu si luan xiang. Ppl.... Be happy for me k =)
